I love one pages scripts as;
1] they re a great writing challenge and..
2] if done well are attractive to film makers as usually simple
So, for this competition I'm going to try and focus on a one location, low budget entry - just try and give it an edge. easy peasy !!
nice to think i have this challenge for the month
What do others think?

First off, I need to say, as Admin, I really need to figure this place out. Sorry, I just spotted this post. 1] Agreed. 2] I think they can make a good resume. I'm not sure how attractive they are filmmakers. Having said I really enjoy one page scripts. It's amazing how much you can lop off and not lose anything in the story. Good luck.

Is this contest open for business now? Any rules? Or is it just "anything goes" as long as it's one page or less?

One quick idea, Dan, and maybe Chris Messineo could help you with how to do this...
Why not contact Movie Bytes to help advertise the contests? It might bolster the membership levels.

Hello Scott, With these first contests, it's anything goes. As far as advertising, I would kind of like to shake this down a little first. Thanks for the suggestion.

its anything goes, except...two pages :-) And for the one-pager, you can even enter more than once. Clear out all those one-pagers with this once in a lifetime offer. (This for the idea Reef.)

Attractive to filmmakers? Given the amount of one-minute (and less) film festivals, that might even be true. Here are a few of them (most of them let you watch the films from all editions online): - Filmminute: www.filminute.com/This seems to be one of the best. Many great entries. - Gottaminute: gottaminutefilmfestival.com/ and TUFF (Toronto Urban Film Festival): www.torontourbanfilmfestival.comare two Canadian one-minute silent film festival, where selected films are screened in the transit system of the respective cities where they are held (Edmonton and Toronto). - Yes we Ten: www.youtube.com/user/YesWeTen/featuredThis is an Italian festival dedicated to 10-30 second shorts. Many of the films have little to no dialogue. I submitted two films to the last edition. They're supposed to get back to me by next Friday. - Film one fest: filmonefest.org/- Festival do minuto: www.festivaldominuto.com.brA one-minute festival from Brazil with many international entries. One of my films was featured there in the last edition. Noentry film festivals lists many more: noentryfeefestivals.com/2013/03/15/one-minute-film-festivals/
