TWO (COUNT 'EM) TWO FREE SCREENPLAY CONTESTS!!!
CONTEST #1-UP TO TEN PAGES -- CONTEST #2-ONE PAGE
Entry submission, open immediately for both contests.
Submissions for both close on April 1, 12:01 am PST.
Rules:
1) Both are open contests -- any subject or genre.
2) Entry open to anyone (and you can enter both contests).
3) If you do enter, you must review every entry in the contest(s) you entered (except your own) or your script won't be eligible to win or place.
4) You may review scripts, even if you don't enter, but your scores only count if you review ALL the scripts in the contest.
5) Each review must contain a grade at the top of the review (not to be published): Poor = 0 points, Fair = 3 points, Good = 5 points, Very Good = 7 points, Excellent = 10 points. Poors and Excellents should be reserved for scripts that stand out (one way or the other) and the scores reflect that.
6) Obvious shenanigans (Example: 1 Excellent and 24 Poors) will get your scores thrown out.
7) I disqualify myself from entering or grading for these contests. I reserve the right to review.
The Mechanics:
I guess you could call these "brute-force" entries.
Soon I will create two new "Boards" at mprefugee.freeforums.net/, one for each contest.
I've set up three Gmail addresses. onepagescript@gmail.com for the one-page scripts, fivepagescript@gmail.com (for possible later use) and tenpagescript@gmail.com for the ten-page scripts.
Starting right now, you may email your script to the gmail address that corresponds to your script.
Please include the title of your script in the subject line. (If you revise it, please send the same information again with (Revised) in the subject line.) Please include your name in the body of the email (the way you want it to appear when the contest is complete) and attach a PDF copy of your script, without your name on it.
On the first couple days of April I will open a new thread on each of these boards for each script and attach the PDF file, making sure everything stays anonymous.
After you've reviewed all the scripts you intend to review for each contest please send all the reviews in ONE email to the gmail address that corresponds to that contest, by May 1, 12:01 am PST. (Each review to include the title of the script, the grade and the actual review.)
Once again, please give me a couple of days to organize these reviews and attach them to the correct scripts. (Sorry -- MoviePoet is the Ferrari, our Yugo is lucky if it still runs on one cylinder.)
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. (I mean, some of this even confuses me.)
Thank you,
Dan
